The kids let me tag along with them for a few days of R and R in St. George over Labor Day weekend. They went down to race in the "Red Rock Relay". Jon, Mandy, Miranda and Bryan ran. The total race was 187 miles. It was a two day affair - they started Friday morning at Brian Head and finished Saturday afternoon by the Tuachan in St. George. There were 12 people on their team that each ran three legs of the race. Brandon and I were volunteers at the finish line and although our only job was to sit in the lawn chairs and gab :) it was fun to see the different teams come in and cheer them on. I was proud of the kids that ran!!! What an accomplishment. They were all pretty sore afterwards. Poor Mir had huge blisters under her toe nails!! And my baby girl, Mandy, really had a character trying first leg of the race. But, as I knew she would, she accomplished it even though it was super hard!! Kudos to all of them!!!
Dylan brought the runners across the finish line! Gavyn is riding high on Dad's shoulders - taking up the rear. Bryan was the team captain and the one responsible for getting this group together. Only fitting that he would share the spotlight with his two boys!!
Seriously, I need your pictures. I love this one of Dylan, what a kid.
ReplyDeleteYour not kidding that first leg was hard. Although the THIRD LEG WAS THE HARDEST. :)
