Dylan's playing soccer......

Guess that makes Cortnie a soccer mom?? and me a soccer grandma??? And it makes Bryan a coach. Dylan said he liked his dad being coach except he yells at him too much. Bryan doesn't yell at them but he does "yell" instructions to them while they are on the field. I went to watch his game last Saturday and he did awesome. He is growing up soooo fast. He played really hard.
It is so much more fun to watch the grandkids than it was to stress over watching my own kids. I used to go watch kids and although I loved to see them playing and having fun, I worried they weren't going to be happy about their performance, or they might make mistakes that would make other parents or their coaches unhappy (like put their shirts over their heads.....notice that when Dylan was goalie, he did keep his shirt down!)I wanted them to be good at it and to succeed. Quite honestly, I wanted them to be the stars of the teams. I didn't want anyone else to be mean to them. I didn't want them to get hurt. I did enjoy it and I was always so proud of them, but it was stressful at times. However, as a grandma, if Dylan scored a goal for the wrong team or put his shirt over his head or sat on the field and did nothing, he would be the best, cutest, strongest, most handsome, talented, special boy on the team - because he's mine!!

  1. Well said. Thanks for coming to support him. I know it means so much to him that his Grandma was at his game.
