New house all torn up..... Top left..... dog chewed up the door frame!!
HATE that fireplace.......
I HATE MOVING!!!! My next move after this one will be to the cemetery. I moved out of my nice, clean home with my beautiful yard and garden in Springville on January 15th..... and moved into my filthy, fixer-upper, flowerless, gardenless home in Cedar Hills. We moved everything I own into the basement and garage. And we all agreed that I own way too much junk!!! So many boxes filled with "who the hell knows what!!" Once all was moved in.... the redo began. Painters came and painted the entire upstairs. Then we replaced all the door hardware and light fixtures. The cabinets got a much needed cleaning and shining and new hardware. New appliances, a new shower door, and finally new carpet began to make the place look livable. FINALLY on Feb 5th we moved me upstairs. I am slowly putting things where they need to go.... but still the only room in the house that is put together is the kitchen and it's the room I use the least. Not sure why I even need one of those!!!

My kids have been so great through all of this!!! They all spent hours looking for a new house with me. Darn near killed them off on moving day. We had tons of help in Springville.... thanks so much to Springcreek 10th Ward Elders Quorum.... but no help in Cedar Hills.... so they were worn out after three big truck loads!!! And then the past few weeks they have all moved boxes, put hardware on and off, moved furniture, cleaned......on and on!! I don't know what I would do without them all!!! THANKS so much KIDS!!! LOVE ALL EIGHT OF YOU!!!!!
I will truly miss Springville. What will I miss? My mountain... the wonderful mountain view from my house gave me a feeling of comfort and protection. The duck ponds..... every day as I drove by them to and from work, I felt like I was in an oasis somewhere just for a few minutes. The people...... I have met and loved many good people in Springville. Too many to name but they will never be forgotten. The small town feel and being able to run to Charlies for a drink in just a couples of minutes. Riding my bike out in the west fields. The pride of buying my own home there, putting in the yard, fence, patio, etc.......and making it such a nice place.
But I will make this home a nice place too. I am soooooooo happy to be closer to my kids. Already it has been such a blessing to be able to run down the street to see Cortnie and her kids. And to be close to work is wonderful. Don't miss the freeway drive at all. It's hard to start over but it's also a chance for new growth and new opportunities. I am very blessed!
Look for pictures soon of the finished product.....
I LOVE your new place...I know it has been a HUGE project and A LOT of work. But I really think it is perfect for you. It will feel like home sweet home soon enough! Let's do a Sunday dinner at your house in the next few weeks!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen we set out to find you a new place, with no yard work and no freeway drive to work, I had no idea it would be so hard on you. Sorry! We hope you will being to feel at home soon. We are excited to have Grandma near by. Soon we will have you feeling at home. Just a few more boxes to empty and a few pictures to get on the walls.
