SUNDAY DRIVES......

Sundays are very long and lonely for me, so I often get in the car and go for a long drive. Today I went out to Goshen to see if I could find the site where they made those scripture movies. I did find it, but only saw it from a distance because the roads that led up to it were all dirt roads and I had just washed my car and didn't want to get it dirty.  But I could see it and it looked pretty cool.

Goshen, and the valley and communities around it are so beautiful.  I would love to live there if I was retired and didn't have to drive somewhere to work every day.  As I was driving, I noticed that the homes out there had gas tanks by them like we had when I was little girl.  I had not noticed them before and I actually didn't think they were used any more.

It just brought back so many memories for me.  Our old gas tank out behind our house in Franklin was a great play thing for me when I was a child.   I often rode it like a horse or played under it in the shade it provided.  I remember the gas man coming to fill it up and visiting with him.  I imagine that he flirted with my very pretty mom, as most men that came around did.  It is funny, but I remember we had a can that we burned our garbage in that could not have been more than 15 -20 feet away from this highly flammable "horse" tank.
My mom burned our life size dolls in that garbage can.... I remember begging her not too and shedding lots of tears over their incineration.  I spent a lot of time in my back yard as a kid.
Most often alone.  I loved to play in my sandbox, play on the tank, and plant flowers in my special spot by the stairs.

As I was driving, I saw the Payson temple for the first time.  It is so exciting to watch these new temples going up all around us.  This one looks quite small, but is very pretty.  Love the view from the freeway, below.
