Bridal Veil Falls with the Birds.....

Cortnie works at the temple on Monday mornings and the kids
have just been alone for the past few weeks while she worked.
So we planned a Gma day.  After my bike ride to BVF I decided the
kids might like to hike up there. So we drove to Canyon Glen Park
first where the climbing rocks (below) were.  Dylan really liked climbing
them.  He could get to the top of all of them.  And Lexie tried with
all her might!  Finally, she conceded that she could do better
when she was just a little bigger.

Then we drove up to Nunns Park and from there hiked on the trail to
Bridal Veil Falls.  Not too long of a hike and the kids were great.
Everything is a wonder to Lexie so she loved it.
The boys liked climbing up and down the steep cliffs to the sides
of the trail.
Once at the falls they, of course, had to get into the water.
They tried not too get their feet wet, but that lasted about
two minutes.  Lexie got stuck on a rock when her flip flop fell
off and Gma had to go in to the rescue.
Dylan broke away from us and climbed way up the falls.
I was getting a little nervous about him going up so high.
The last picture shows how high he got before I got his
attention (by yelling like a maniac) and told him to
"GET BACK DOWN HERE NOW!!!"

We bought fish food and fed the carp.
Such cuties...... Gav (although unusual for him) just kept
saying "take a picture of us here Gma" or "take a picture of
me doing this".  So I got lots of pictures!

It was Gav's idea to climb out to this rock and take a picture.
Then he wanted a picture of just him.
And of course, so did Lexie!
She looks so old in this picture.  I don't want her to grow up!
And then just before we left, Gav climbed up here and
said he wanted one more picture!
This shows how high Dyl got.  He was very mad at me that I made him come down.  I asked him how he would like someone else to treat one of his most treasured possessions if he were to borrow it to them.  He thought about it and he answered that he would want them to take good care of it.  I explained that his parents expect me to take good care of him when
I "borrow" him and that I am not strong enough or young enough to make it up that mountain
to save him.  If he wants to go to the top, he'll have to come with his dad.
(In essence, if he is going to get hurt, he's not going to do it on my clock!)

  1. Thanks for taking them. Lexie was just telling me about it again today. They had a great time.
