Several months ago I learned of the possibility of getting a full time
position at American Fork Hospital. I wanted it so badly!
So the job was posted the first of June and I applied,
interviewed and I GOT IT!!!!
I am now the Diagnostic Imaging Coordinator!
or aka VIC the DIC :) Ya, bad joke.....
I have just been so very happy and grateful
and overwhelmed by the wonderfulness of this
opportunity that I have been at the brink of tears for
two weeks. I LOVE general X-ray and am grateful to
be back in it. I have a lot to remember and relearn
but I am excited to do it and to grow and stretch.
So what does this sewing machine have to do with my new job??
It is my gift to myself to celebrate getting my new job.
This little 1950 featherweight machine sews so much better
than my other sewing machine it is unbelievable.
I have friends that have them and I have wanted one
for a long time.... so it seemed like a great time to get one!
In my new job I am over about 13 techs, 8 students, and
am responsible for scheduling, training, coaching,
motivating, teaching, and leading this great team
in general x-ray. As I said I have much to learn but
I am so excited about it!! I got a good raise and my benefits
are better at less cost to me. I am so very thankful!
I have prayed so long and hard for a better job where
I was not underemployed, where I could use my talents,
where I could grow and progress. This is just what I was looking for.
It will be more financial security which is such a great blessing.
I keep saying the same thing over and over here but I just
cannot express how grateful I am for this blessing!!!
This new position made it possible for me to quit my part time job
here at Utah Valley Imaging in Orem. I have loved working here
with my good friend Joan Orton and rekindling a friendship with
Tracie Fillerup who was my Senior student when I went to Xray school.
I have really enjoyed working with the Radiologists here.
They are some phenomenal men. Good doctors. Kind and caring.
But I will not miss this job!! It has been my least favorite job I have
ever had. But it was an answer to prayer and kept me going
for a long time and for that I am grateful.
