The theme for the retreat this year was
"The Secret Life of Quilters"
Our free quilt kit was 5 yds each of yellow and white fabric
to make a two color quilt from. These are a couple of my
favorites that the Amy's crew made to give us ideas.
So excited about this year's Mystery Quilt.
Amy is so amazingly talented!
Now to decide which style I want to do... and
Get going on it!!!
I took my bike with me. And went on TWO wonderful bike rides.
The first day (on this and any trip like this!) is very hard for me because I am so
used to being ALONE :( and I got quite claustrophobic and a little uptight
so I left for a while and rode my bike around the beautiful area around the
Zermatt (in Midway). It was a great ride. And I wanted to fit in on more
ride before I went home so Friday morning... I went for a very COLD ride...
It was only 21 degrees! But I met the friends pictured above.. it was so good of them
to pose for me. And the view over the valley was incredible!
These are some of the ladies I went with...
Stephanie Fackrell and Sherrie ??, my dear friend Joan Orton,
Shannon Morgan, me, Stacy ??? and Sandy.
It is so great to get away and get to know several types and kinds
and varieties of women. And the common love of quilting is what
ties us together initially but then we visit and get to know each other
and find so many other things that bind us together as women
and friends.
This is one of our cute gifts from the week!
This is Shannon's car after a morning snowfall
and she is right... American Quilting Retreat does
ROCK!! I just LOVE going and learning more about
quilting and enjoying the company of good friends.
Looking forward already to next year!!
